Create an outline for an argumentative research essay, which you will draft in Lesson
2. The outline will begin with a strong claim, followed by at least three supporting
reasons. The evidence that backs up each reason must come from credible sources
that you find through research. In its finished state, your outline should show how the
claim, reasons, and evidence all relate.
Your outline should include the following elements:
A claim that takes a clear stand on an important, controversial issue
- At least three reasons that support the claim
Evidence from at least five sources that backs up your reasons (and the claim,
indirectly)
A works-cited page that lists your sources and follows MLA guidelines
You should have completed a draft of this assignment in the activity before this one.
If you haven't done so go back and complete that activity now.
