If a facility is found to have violated the Elder Justice Act and fired an employee because
they reported suspected abuse, the facility may face:
A civil monetary penalty (fine) of not more than 500,000 and may be excluded from federal
funding for 3 years
A civil monetary penalty (fine) of not more than 300,000 and may be excluded from federal
funding for 2 years
A civil monetary penalty (fine) of not more than 200,000 and may be excluded from federal
funding for 2 years
A civil monetary penalty (fine) of not more than 100,000 and may be excluded from federal
funding for 3 years
